How it works

Check a business name and its matching domains in one place.

Enter your name once. We check the Australian business-name result and four matching domains, then explain what to do next.

1. Enter the exact name you want to use

Use the spelling and wording you plan to show customers. We turn it into a matching web address and run all five checks together. The search does not register or hold anything for you.

2. We run five checks

  • The Australian business name through a specialist data service.
  • The matching .com.au, which every paid report name must have.
  • The shorter matching .au, which we recommend checking.
  • The matching .com and .net.au domains for extra information.

An available domain is not always one you are allowed to register. Australian domains may require proof that you or your business meet the rules.

3. We show a clear result

Green means the provider said available when checked. Amber means something needs review or more information. Red means the business name or required domain is unavailable. We never turn an unclear answer into a green result.

4. Paid reports check every name idea first

The A$39 report will give you five name ideas. Before you see them, each one must pass the business-name and matching .com.au checks. We also show the matching domain results recorded during the report checks.

5. Complete the checks and register

Use the result as a starting point. You still need to register the business name, meet the domain rules and check for trade mark or similar-business problems. Read how we check and the important limits before you commit.
